NALAG honors two members of the Assembly for 31 years of service

Abesim (B / R), June 14, GNA – The National
The Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) awarded honorary prizes
members of the Assembly for their immense contribution to the deepening of the
local government system in the country.

They were Mr. Stephen B. Kpen, the Assembly
Man for the Zambokpee Electoral Region, Lawra Municipal Assembly in the Upper West
Agnes Attayillah, the electoral district of Woman for Sue, and
President of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly.

The two members of the Assembly had represented
their constituents and served their respective local bademblies during the 31
years since the current local government systems were put in place in 1988.

Each of them received a quote.

Mr. Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La, the President
NALAG presented the awards to the laureates at the twentieth national biennale
NALAG delegates' conference under way in Abesim in Sunyani municipality.

He said that NALAG had appreciated and acknowledged the
contributions from both members of the Assembly and urged them to continue serving
their people and their communities.

The Association has also conferred honors
composition of Mr. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, MP Sunyani
Is for his meritorious services to the growth and development of NALAG.

Mr. Ameyaw-Cheremeh also received a quote
as the first honorary member of the badociation.

The four-day conference, being
in the presence of the executive heads of municipalities and districts, presidents of bademblies and bademblies
Members were on the theme: "Ghana Beyond Help: A paradigm shift for
Sustainable development, the role of local authorities ".

He would elect the National Executive Board to
direct the affairs of the Association for the next two years.
