The National Investment Bank (NIB) terminated the appointment of all contract agents.

A letter of termination sent to the relevant staff indicated in part "that management has decided to terminate your contract on June 30, 2019."

The letter added that the staff concerned had to return "their personal identifier, Friday dress and other corporate accessories" to management, and then leave the terminal for a period of seven days no later than June 21, 2019.

The contract agents had already been informed of the decision not to renew their contract after the expiry date. Most of the staff members concerned had to leave in October and November 2019.

But one of the concerned workers who spoke to Starrfm.com.gh said that they had been suddenly informed on Monday that management had decided to end their relationship with them at the end of June. .

An executive officer who confirmed the information to Starrfm.com.gh on condition of anonymity said the decision was part of efforts to restructure the bank's operations and make it more profitable.

The move comes several months after the Bank of Ghana appointed Felix E. Addo, a former senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Ghana, an adviser to the National Investment Bank (NIB).

The central bank had early announced the appointment of an advisor for the bank without specifying the advisor's name.

In May 2019, the Bank of Ghana also appointed Mr. Samuel Sarpong to the position of Managing Director of the Bank.
