Manchester United were left as the only competitor of Bruno Fernandes after Tottenham would have joined Manchester City and Liverpool to distance themselves from the midfield.

According to Pietro Balzano Prota, director of the Italian point of sale Rossonera Radio, United are about to sign the Portuguese midfielder after signing an agreement with Sporting Lisbon.

United would be trying to attach the details of the transfer, which is estimated to be in the region of £ 71 million.

Fernandes' agent had to travel to England to talk to Manchester United after A bola Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's club was chosen to sign the player, who scored or helped 50 goals in 53 games last season in the Primeira Liga.

However, United had to wait for the potential deal after claiming that the Spurs were ready to face United's bid. The player was also linked to Manchester City and Liverpool, but the Daily mail claims that they will not move, and also said that Tottenham had now stopped interest in the player.

This means that United is the only one to claim Fernandes, who once again impressed the Portuguese 1-0 victory against the Netherlands on Sunday against Holland, thanks to his powerful shot.

The player, however, got nothing as a result of a poll earlier this week.

"I do not know anything, I'll take the next few days to understand what's true," said Fernandes Sport Mediaset.

"We know that newspapers sometimes have to make a show to move the market and sell. I am calm, I am in a big club. I do not need to move, I'm not trying to leave.

"If the opportunity arises to go to a team that you can not refuse, I will talk to Sporting."

United, meanwhile, was also tipped to sign a 165 million pound British trio in Saturday's newspapers.
