Manchester United were left as the only competitor of Bruno Fernandes after Tottenham would have joined Manchester City and Liverpool to distance themselves from the midfield.
According to Pietro Balzano Prota, director of the Italian point of sale Rossonera Radio, United are about to sign the Portuguese midfielder after signing an agreement with Sporting Lisbon.
United would be trying to attach the details of the transfer, which is estimated to be in the region of £ 71 million.
