Ofosu Ampofo has not been charged | Policy

The council of National Democratic Congress (NDC) National President Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo revealed that his client had still not been charged by the police.

According to Abraham Amaliba, the police were investigating offenses such as conspiracy to commit a crime, namely kidnapping and unlawful damage to Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo.

He reported this to reporters when Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo was introduced to the police investigators team yesterday afternoon after his release last Tuesday, as part of his condition of bail.

Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo arrived yesterday at 13:55, accompanied by his advice, including Tony Lithur, Abraham Amaliba and Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, as well as some party leaders. He left around 14:13.

Abraham Amaliba said that after meeting the team of investigators led by Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP) George Tweneboah, Deputy Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo had been invited to come again on Wednesday 19 June 2019 at around 2 pm .

Amaliba continued: "We want to cooperate with the CID because we do not want to say things that will undermine the institution of the state, we will come back next Wednesday because they told us to come back …".

It will be recalled that Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, National President of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who is also a former Pentecostal, was arrested Tuesday evening in Cantonment.

His arrest follows an arrest warrant obtained from the court by the police after his refusal to honor an invitation from the security forces.
