The Association of Petroleum Marketing Companies (AOMC) has expressed its apology for refueling consumers who might have been deceived at the pump after the recent revelation by the Metrology Department of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) that 10 service stations were hurting their customers.

The 10 stations, each fined 5,000 GHS, include Shell, Highway Extension; Total, McCarthy Hill; GOIL Thousand 11; Frimps oil, Tetegu junction; GOIL, Galilea; Frimps oil, Spintex road; Glory Oil, Spintex Road; Allied Oil, Sakaman; Shell, Amanfrom West and Goodness Energy, Kasoa.

In addition, two companies; Galaxy Oil, Spintex Road; and Agapet, Spintex Road, broke the seal of the GSA without authorization.

"In summary, of the 65 stations visited, 55 delivered the right quantities and 10 under-delivered," said the GSA in a statement.

In a statement, the AOMC said the failed gas stations had rectified the problem.

"These credible and sustainable oil marketing companies (OMC) have since corrected the issues raised by the GSA when auditing their outlets," the statement said.

"These companies have quality vans and a staff with excellent technical know-how and who make periodic visits to their respective outlets to ensure quality, quantity and prices are delivered to consumers across the country. . "

The AOMC also indicated that they were working with their members to optimize the resources of consumers.
