Hearts and Kotoko meet for the first time in Special Cup
That's the big problem – Accra Hearst of Oak versus Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the semifinals of the special competition of the Standards Committee.
At one point, the disagreement over the venue of the match and the product of the door seemed to have killed the match, but the match was resurrected after both clubs agreed with the NC on the terms and the place of the match.
The new Hearts look with its beautiful football brand welcomes the efficient team of CK Akunnor, Kotoko, at the Accra stadium.
A second place in the North zone means that Kotoko will play against Hearts who finished at the top of the South zone.
The Phobians were untouchable at home, winning 7 wins and one draw in eight games played at the Accra stadium.
Kotoko has not been a good traveler, in eight games played, porcupines have only won one, but "Accra is our home" is the general opinion of their fans.
Amos Frimpong of Kotoko launched the first salvo in these terms: "Hearts have played well at home, but we are determined to put an end to their unbeaten record. We come with strength to defeat Hearts and build on our hopes of making the CAF Champions League next season.
His counterpart Fatawu Mohammed replied, "Day after day, we work hard to train in the match against Kotoko. It will not be an easy match, but we have a good team and I think we'll do the job on Sunday, "he said.
"Since the beginning of the tournament, we have vowed not to allow any team to come and beat us at the Accra stadium. We have kept that promise since. We will improve Sunday this impressive record at home to win and qualify for the final.
Both teams were encouraged by the return of their two players who were part of Ghana's provisional CAN team. Hearts Mohammed Alhbadan and Kotoko Safiu will face after their experience with the Black Stars.
