Brandon gets arrested in the final of 'The Chi', season 2

Detective Alice Toussaint is more determined than ever to resolve her case as members of the 63rd Street Mob attacked her son in jail. She executed a search warrant on the Brandon truck and found a firearm. Toussaint stopped him and tried to get him back on Otis Perry. She realized that Otis Perry had a blank criminal record despite affiliations with several known gang members and that Family C Reality was the 63rd Street Mob code.

Perry eventually dismissed Brandon and promised that he would hire the best lawyers to get his charges removed. Brandon begged Perry to let him out. However, Perry brought him back with his speech "I believe in you, Brandon". When Jerrika arrived at the prison, she saw Perry with Brandon. She demanded to know why Perry would like to bail out Brandon.

When they returned from prison, they quarreled over Brandon's relationship with Perry. Brandon admitted that Perry is known in the streets as "Douda" and close to the top of 63rd Street Mob. He told her that he only discovered it that day. However, Jerrika knew that he was lying.

Jerrika gave Brandon the silent treatment for a few days, until he could not stand it anymore and confronts it. She asked him how he was offering her engagement ring and, when he failed to answer, she knew that Brandon was perfectly aware of who Perry was.

Jerrika said that she did not want to raise a family with someone who was dating gang members. Brandon explained to Jerikka that he finally had the chance to become something, but she will not understand it because she is privileged and has a rich family. Jerrikka realized that they were too different, so she broke up with him and gave him back his ring.

Is Brandon the scorpion or the frog?

When Kevin sees Jake selling drugs in front of school, Dad tells him a fable called Scorpion and Frog. The scorpion asked the frog to carry it across a river. The frog is afraid the scorpion will sting him, but the scorpion told him that if he did, they would both drown. So, the frog agreed, but halfway across the river, the scorpion stung the frog. They both begin to sink. The frog asked the scorpion why he stung it, and the scorpion replied, "It's in my nature; who am I? "

After Brandon and Jerrika separated, he returned to the neighborhood and asked Detective Touissant what she wanted him to do. She promised that if he worked with her to bring down Perry, she would protect him. Brandon also asked Touissant whether it was a scorpion or a frog.

Brandon eventually cooperates and the final scene shows him to the detectives. They watch Perry in a surveillance van at his grand opening for another property he brought. Touissant then told Brandon that Perry was the scorpion.

Brandon became a mentor for Kevin, offering weekly haircuts where he gave him advice. He also helped Emmett serving dinner to Emmett and his appointment. In The Chi End of season 2, Brandon also forgave Ronnie, the murderer of his little brothers, opening the door for Ronnie to forgive his father.

Brandon is described as a caring, hardworking and pbadionate guy who once boasted never to be arrested. He is the frog and he foolishly trusted Scorpio, which eventually stung him.
