The star of the academy Man Utd tells Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he should be part of the first team next season

Dean Henderson told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he was good enough to be part of Manchester United's first team next season.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper has just completed his impressive loan spell at Sheffield United and played a key role in the club's automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Henderson has been in the United Academy since the age of 14, but has never made the slightest appearance in the first team and has been loaned every season since 2015.

Henderson, who is in the England team for the European Under-21 Championship title that will start against France on Tuesday night, insists that He is kind enough to stay at Old Trafford and push David De Gea and Sergio Romero to a place in the team.

"Whether it's Manchester United, Sheffield United, anywhere, I'm good enough to be a Premier League goaltender, and I deserve that chance," Henderson told The Daily Mail.

"It's hard to say where. But do I think I should play Manchester United now? Yes.

"I think I'm good enough and I'll help the team a lot in a positive way.

"Otherwise, I'm sure I could go back to Sheffield United, play a season and then I'll show Manchester United what they miss."
