The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the new ruling party, the ruling ruling party (NPP), promised never to borrow until it came to power.

The NDC, as a party, said Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president, had tweeted while the NPP was in opposition that it would not borrow to govern the government. .

Alhbadan Suhuyini, NDC MP for Tamale North, was the last political figure to reiterate that Mr Bawumia had tweeted in 2016 that an Akufo-Addo government would never borrow.

The minority has always criticized the Akufo-Addo government, which they believe would have raised the national debt to nearly $ 200 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2019.

But YEN.com.gh's checks reveal that the said Twitter account was a fake. It was not the official Twitter account of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Vice President Gideon Boako's spokesman also clarified and denied the minority's demand.

In a statement issued Monday, June 17, 2019, Mr. Boako stated that the NDC had not provided evidence in support of his claim.

"I want to point out to Mr. Suhuyini, his cohorts at CND and all those who like to communicate such a lie that Dr. Bawumia has never made tweets or statements during the 2016 campaign period that the government the NPP would never borrow when elected to power."
