Scotland could see its World Cup dreams come true after losing to Japan

After its first defeat against England, Scotland suffered another defeat against Japan on Friday after Mana Iwabuchi's goal and Yuika Sugasawa's penalty kick in the first period.

Scotland had two chances of punishment – a foul on Erin Cuthbert and a handball by Risa Shimizu – denied by VAR.

The loss left Scotland at the bottom of the group, but could still reach third place in the group by beating Argentina, which may be enough to qualify for the round of 16.
