The Greater Accra Regional Police Command arrested a Nigerian man for allegedly attempting to steal a four-year-old boy.

The man was caught by Mamobi residents in Accra when he tried to drag him into a black corolla early Sunday.

The police meanwhile launched a men's hunt for three other suspects involved in the case.

Speaking of Accra-based Joy FM, a resident who rescued the suspect from the crowd, said the suspect belonged to a gang of four.

According to the suspect, their mission is to kidnap people, adding that they went to Nima to undergo an operation, but that they failed until they arrived at Mamobi.

The suspect was sent to Nima hospital for treatment after being beaten by residents.
