Madina-Adenta footbridges are adapted for people with disabilities and are 100% safe, Minister

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwasi Amoako-Atta, has justified his claims that the 6 newly built bridges on the Madina-Adenta stretch are friendly, including people with disabilities.

According to him, although the walkways seem long, it is worth spending minutes to use them to be overturned by a vehicle while trying to hit the road.

In inspecting the completion and commissioning of the bridge, Hon Amoako-Atta said he was impressed and satisfied that the new bridge was built in accordance with international standards guaranteeing users 100% safety.

He said: "All bridges are very user-friendly, especially for people with disabilities. It only takes a maximum of two minutes to complete the distance. Can someone compare two minutes to being knocked over by a car? In the past, cars were knocking people over the road and we do not want to lose a single life on this stretch. This is the main reason why these bridges are built. "

The Minister of Roads and Roads said officers would be deployed to monitor and arrest people found to be pasting advertisements and banners on each side of the footbridges.

Although only one bridge has been completed; Modern Ghana can confirm that others are at different stages of completion.

While some pedestrians are waiting for the completion of the walkways, Hon Amoako-Atta told reporters that the workers would have enough materials to complete the job before the completion date.

Some checks by Modern Ghana reveal that despite government intervention and the construction of six new bridges, some pedestrians claim that they are too tired to use the long zigzag bridges, a situation that they believe will force others to continue to cross it at the expense of their lives.
