Jurgen Klopp, the "new players" and the midfielder's deal in Liverpool still want to seal

Liverpool's Twitter section desperately seeking its lean Melwood solution this summer was not amused on Saturday.

Yes, there was a curiosity to watch Jurgen Klopp greet the solitary lone Reds signing this transfer window, defender Sepp van den Berg, 17 years old.

But when the Reds boss started discussing some of his charges, the mood quickly changed.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is described as a new player. Rhian Brewster the same. So also Joe Gomez. And then there was Adam Lallana.

Klopp is right to consider the foursome as a new option, since they've all missed important pieces of the previous campaign.

New recruits, however, are not. And as Liverpool 's rivals start to spend money, some of the most impatient among their fans started complaining.

And when it comes to regularly delivering at the highest level year after year, few people in Liverpool's ranks can outmatch James Milner.

At 33, the midfielder is the oldest field player on the team.

But rather than falter, Milner seems to be getting better in the final stages of his career, highlighting his reputation as the band's most capable player by winning the first preseason trials at Melwood this weekend.

Milner had, like many branded brands, indicated that he remained very focused on the regular minutes.

Despite a fierce competition in the engine room last season, Milner still participated in 45 games, including 31 as a starter.
