One of the best schools in the Volta region and the only one that survived in 2019 at NSMQ eliminated Chemu SHS and Oti Boateng SHS in the quarter-finals of the 2019 competition.

Keta SHTS took the first semifinal spot available Saturday and ensured a third consecutive semifinal appearance.

Chemu, which has had a wonderful campaign so far, was tipped to win the contest, but their misfortunes, which began early, continued throughout the contest.

The Tema school was upset earlier in the year by beating Presec Legon, the five-time world champion, in the regional championship, but this inspiring story was shortened by Ketasco.

For Oti Boateng SHS, their more than 70 points in qualifying sent shivers down the backs of their opponents and the East Region school has kept that name until now.

They gave Ketasco a chance, but only until the penultimate inning.

Ketasco broke the game in the final round by choosing three of the four puzzles to progress and keep hope of a Volta-area school winning the 26-year-old contest.

At the end of the contest, the final scores were:

Keta SHTS: 47pts

Oti Boateng SHS: 28pts

Chemu SHS: 24pts
