Kumasi police arrested four people for illegally possessing the guarantors of the Electoral Commission's restricted electoral registration and other forms.

The four men were arrested in the canteen of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, behind the regional minister's office, busy filling out forms for new registrants.

The suspects were identified as Kasim, the Nasara coordinator of the electoral district of Asokwa, Alidu, a youth organizer from the constituency of Manhyia South, Kyei, a staff member of the electoral commission and another .

The four suspects were handed over to the Ashanti Regional Police Command after an in camera meeting between NDC, NPP and EC officials at the Kumasi Electoral Commission's regional headquarters.

The suspects were selected following a complaint filed by the NDC Constituency Secretary for Asokwa.

Meanwhile, two other suspected members of the Kwadaso constituency of the NPP, who were arrested on Friday following double-registration attempts, are still in custody and should be brought to court on Monday, July 8, 2019.
