Suicide of GBC workers The deceased was found in the room by her younger brother

MyNewsGh.com has confirmed that a staff member from the GCB Bank Limited Nsawam Branch, identified by Agnes Asempana, had committed suicide by hanging.

The partially naked body of the 42-year-old woman was found hanging in a room with a nylon rope tied to her neck in Ayekotse, a suburb of Suhum Township, in the eastern region.

Sources revealed that the deceased, on Friday, July 5, 2019, had gone to her two-bedroom apartment to collect items for the sole purpose of committing suicide.

It's his younger brother, a Bajerisong Lazarus, who found him in this state around 4 pm, when he went to visit him.

DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, Eastern Region Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident at MyNewsGh.com.

The body has since been dropped off at the Suhum government hospital morgue pending an autopsy, while the police have opened an investigation into the facts.

Colleagues, however, are shocked by what could have led the deceased to commit suicide so barbaric.

Near sources point out that this could be related to disappointment in her relationships or work-related issues that she has concealed.
