Chamomile tea and its extracts have been used throughout history for calming effects and for inducing sleep. A total of 80 new mothers in Taiwan with poor sleep quality were randomly badigned to either drink a cup of chamomile tea a day for two weeks, in addition to receiving regular health care, or simply to receive care regular health. The results showed that mothers who drank chamomile tea showed a significant improvement in symptoms badociated with poor sleep, such as excessive daytime sleepiness, irritable mood, and poor concentration. These mothers also had significant improvements in postpartum depression.

Overall, studies on the influence of chamomile on sleep are still lacking, but many people find this drink a pleasurable choice before bedtime. Whether it's 30 minutes or an hour before taking hay, drinking chamomile in the evening is the best way to make the most of its potential benefits to sleep.
