A fierce battle awaits the clashes of three high schools in what promises to be a great appetizing finale of the 2019 National Science and Math quiz (NSMQ).

Five-time champions, Presbyterian High School for Boys, winners in 2018, SHS of St. Peter's Boys and once winner, St Augustine's College have qualified for the grand finale of the NSMQ.

The schools in the running are all boys.

Students and alumni from different schools will take every opportunity to let you know that they are the champions of the quiz contest.

Candidates are eager to win in order to be able to beat their bads and tell how they defeated this or that school to win the trophy at the end of the one – month competition.

PRESEC, Legon wins the NSMQ 5 times

PRESEC won the NSMQ record five times in its first win at the second edition in 1995. They also won the years 1995, 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2009 and are eager to end their ten years of drought.

In the semi-finals, PRESEC posted a consistent performance to dominate the overall contest and hope to end the drought of its 10-year trophy after defeating Adisadel College and Opoku Ware School for the first time. qualify for the final.

The "Odade3" won the first semi-final showdown with 48 points, while Adisadel College and Opoku Ware School scored 34 and 31 points respectively.

St. Peter's SHS – 3 times champion

St. Peter's SHS of Nkwatia Kwahu in the Eastern Region are the defending champions of the NSMQ after winning the 2018 title.

Their two previous wins were held in 2000 and 2005. They defeated Tepa SHS and the Wesley Girls' High School in the semifinals.

At the end of the competition, St Peter had 48 points to qualify for the final while Wesley Girls and Tepa had 26 and 28 points respectively.

PERSCO now joins the fivefold PRESEC Champion, Legon in the quiz final.

St. Augustine's College – 1 time winner

St. Augustine's College of Cape Coast has already won the NSMQ.

They are motivated to add a second to the trophy they won in 2007.

Augustine's College, better known as AUGUSCO, achieved a breathtaking performance in the last semifinal by eliminating Keta Senior High School and Technical School and High School. and technical Ghana.

They showed off their strength on both challengers and finished the fight with the highest countdown in the semifinal.

The final scores of the contest were: St Augustine College, 53 points – Keta SHTS, 29 points – GSTS, 15 points.

The National Science and Math quiz is primarily designed to promote the study of science and mathematics.
