Billy Gilmour, Chelsea's wonderful prodigy, informs fans about Frank Lampard's pre-season sessions

Billy Gilmour is one of the youngest players to train with Chelsea's first pre-season team, but admits he loves the experience.

Aged 18, he joined the Blues from Rangers in the summer of 2017 and played a key role in the success of the youth team consisting of Jody Morris and Joe Edwards.

Gilmour is one of the most promising prospects of the Blues Academy and the central midfielder has already been featured for the under-21 Scottish club even though he was only 16 years old at the time.

Under Maurizio Sarri, he even had the opportunity to train with the first team on the occasion, then was called by Frank Lampard to join the pre-training camp. season in Dublin this week.

The young man is expected to have a bright future in front of him and Chelsea asked him to answer fans' questions on his Instagram page after one of the sessions.

Gilmour was able to give fans a glimpse of the early days of Lampard's training camp.

"The first days under the bum were very good and tough," Gilmour said. "A lot of racing, but obviously, it's the first time with the first team, so it was really a good experience for me.

Gilmour is a very talented midfielder, having played mostly under-23 alongside Conor Gallagher and George McEachran, player of the Academy of the Year.

And the prospect of learning from Chelsea scorer Lampard is certainly a possibility he is looking forward to.

"My favorite Chelsea player growing up would probably be the gaffer [Lampard], definitely, "he added. In addition, I will model myself on his game, scoring goals, midfield box-to-box. So, I would definitely say the gaffer. "
