K T HAMMOND STILL JUSTIFIES THE NEED FOR A NEW ROOM

The deputy of the Adansi Asokwa constituency, in the Ashanti region, continues to justify the need to create a new chamber in Parliament.

According to K.T Hammond, the argument that Ghana does not need a new chamber is debatable.

Adidas MP Asokwa lamented that the legislature, as a branch of government in a democratic regime, lacks resources in relation to the executive and the judiciary.

Speaking of Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen program, Monday, K.T. Hammond said the deputies were choking in the current room.

He cited the fact that visitors have always occupied the Parliament washrooms to the detriment of legislators.

"We spend a lot on the executive and the judiciary. I do not tell you Parliament, " he smoked.

Hammond pointed out that if Ghana wants to practice democracy, it must be willing to spend.

Information collected by YEN.com.gh I guess President Akufo-Addo opposed Parliament's proposals to use $ 200 million for a new chamber.

According to a report seen by YEN.com.gh About Ghanaweb, the president said he was focusing on more priority projects for the country, hence his rejection of the proposal.

The president is committed to improving Ghana's roads, the education and training sector, agriculture, water and housing, rural development and many more, the report said.
