"I am very happy to be able to sign this contract and it gives you a boost at the beginning of the season, as well as at the end of last season," said Origi at the Liverpool website.

"It's an amazing club, we have a good group, the staff is fantastic. Even coming to Melwood, the people who work here and everything else, you feel that something special is going on here.

According to PA, the contract contains no release clause, which would have been considered by the Belgian as being under examination, which the club considers as a sign of its long-term commitment.

Origi played 21 times last season and scored seven goals. The Belgian should play Thursday his first pre-season friendly against Liverpool Tranmere.
