The management of Inter and Milan today rebadured citizens that they would "impose" nothing after announcing their intention to rebuild San Siro.

The clubs released Wednesday a long joint statement confirming that they had submitted a "technical and economic feasibility study" to the board after months of planning.

They also outlined plans to build a new multifunctional district in the neighboring San Siro area, which will be dedicated to "sports, recreation and shopping".

Ansa reportedly told Alessandro Antonello, Paolo Scaroni and Ivan Gazidis: "We want a project with which the inhabitants will participate, no club wants to impose anything and we want an open discussion with local institutions."

Inter and Milan confirmed that the study they presented today was an attempt "to obtain the public declaration of interest of the municipality of Milan", after which they would file a definitive plan.

The new San Siro will have 60,000 seats, while the project as a whole, including the adjacent district, is expected to cost 1.2 billion euros.
