President Akufo-Addo paid tribute to the late Professor John Evans Atta-Mills for calling for the establishment of the Continental Free Trade Area in 2011.
Interacting with Ghanaians in Paris, the capital of France, he added that the call for the creation of a common market in Africa was important.
"Every country should have its goals and policies that it follows successfully, leader after leader. When national goals are set, all of us who are in office should be obliged to follow him ", he stated.

YEN.com.gh understands that the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA), if created, would constitute the continent's largest trading bloc.

According to a report by myjoyonline.com, 44 heads of state and government of the African Union (AU), including Ghana, signed an agreement in Kigali, Rwanda, on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, for the creation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
In addition, 45 members signed the Protocol Establishing the African Economic Community, Free Movement of Persons and the Right of Residence, while 43 Member States signed the Kigali Declaration.
In another report, the national president of the New Patriotic Party, Freddie Blay, revealed that the plans of the House of Parliament had not been canceled.
According to him, the building would be built in the future, although plans are currently pending.
He added that the government should team up with Parliament to develop strategies for building the complex for the Legislative Assembly.
