According to new research, most people think that a strong business culture will make them happier at work than earning a high salary.

Glbaddoor surveyed more than 5,000 adults in the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany throughout the month of June to determine their priorities for job satisfaction.

According to the study, 56% of workers felt that a strong workplace culture was more important than salary, with more than three in four workers saying that they would take into account the culture of the workplace. A company before applying for a job in this country.

Glbaddoor's findings showed that corporate culture was a priority for the majority of respondents, but that it was more important for young adults.

Two-thirds of British Millennials – 18 to 34 – put culture above wages, while half of British workers over 45 years of age preferred culture. In the United States, 65% of Millennials place more emphasis on corporate culture than higher income, compared with 52% of Americans over 45 years of age.

When considering a new job, the vast majority of workers would also take into account the values ​​of a company – 73% of Glbaddoor respondents would not apply for a company if its values ​​did not match theirs.

At the same time, two-thirds of employees said that the culture of their company was one of the main reasons to stay in office. Just over 70% of adults in the four countries said they would look for a role elsewhere if their current business culture deteriorated, with the proportion rising to 74% among US workers.
