MARCUS RASHFORD is encouraged by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first pre-season as boss of Manchester United and thinks the Norwegian is finally restoring the club's identity.

The Red Devils are in Perth, Australia, as part of their pre-season tour and Rashford, 21, can see the signs of United's former united way back up.

Citing changes in systems and tactics in recent years, the English international believes that the uncertain times of Jose Mourinho, David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal could be behind them.

Addressing MUTV about Solskjaer's impact on the team, Rashford said: "The intensity and the level of training are things that are more favorable to me. I think we are beginning to understand it better.

"It's the first pre-season of Ole and it can really reduce what it wants us to do.

"So we have to use the rest of our time here – and in Singapore and China – to keep moving forward.

"I feel we can start to fix what is most needed.

"There was a lot of hashing and change, different tactics, different systems.

"I think we can fix what we are trying to do and recover that identity."

Rashford recently signed a new £ 300,000 a week deal at Old Trafford and seems to be taking on more responsibilities.

After his friend and teammate Jesse Lingard posted a coarse video swearing and discussing "shagging", the attacker went on to press and called the controversial video an "error."

Lingard was involved in another controversy after appearing to clash with Wantaway star Paul Pogba in a video posted on United's Twitter account.

Romelu Lukaku is another man seemingly ready for a start at Old Trafford, while United still pursues Harry Maguire of Leicester and Mario Lemina of Southampton in a silent transfer window for the Europa League club.
