The Ghana News Agency noted that applications were opened around 12:30 pm Wednesday in the Greater Accra region.
Mr. Francis Yaw Ahashie, NDC deputy secretary, Kpone Katamanso constituency, said in an interview with the GNA that three aspirants had chosen forms of standardization just after the opening of the nominations.
Ahashie was optimistic that others could also come for their forms to challenge the parliamentary primaries.
According to him, constituency officials could be arbitrators, but any overtly surprised official in favor of a candidate will be sanctioned accordingly.
The deputy secretary added that each candidate had to make a cash payment of two thousand Ghanaian cedis for the forms.
Audits in Ashaiman Constituency revealed that only the incumbent, Mr. Enerst Norgbe, had selected forms to contest the elections.
Ms. Zainab Mohammed, Assistant Communications Officer for Ashaiman Constituency, told the GNA that some people had expressed interest in challenging Enerst Norgbe but had yet to choose their forms.
Some Ningo-Prampram branch officials would have chosen a form to be used by Constituency President Michael Kwetey Tetteh to challenge the incumbent, Mr. Samuel Nartey George.
In an interview with Mr. Michael Kwetey Tetteh, he revealed that he had been informed that some branch officers had chosen a form in his place.
He explained that he was going to the constituency office to check whether the information was true or not.
In the meantime, no one had taken a form from the Tema East constituency office when the RN went there.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will hold its parliamentary primaries on August 24, 2019.
