Twitter returns after a one hour outage – TechCrunch

After an hour of soft freedom, the world has come back to Twitter.

At approximately 1450 eastern standard time, the desktop and mobile sites were down, displaying an "Something is wrong at all" error. The application did not work either. The site came back around 3:45 pm ET, but took a few minutes to find all its features.

The Twitter status page indicates that a little more than this is only an "active incident". A Twitter spokesman confirmed the breakdown, but referred us to the state page.

After returning from the site, Twitter said it was because of an "internal configuration change," which it has since canceled.

This is not the first time Twitter has had a hiccup in recent weeks. The social media giant was hit by a direct mail failure earlier this month. In fact, between June and July, most of the big Internet companies crashed, hitting themselves or other offline sites.

Please tweet about how it was down and how hard it is to tweet about how Twitter is down when it is crashing itself, and the irony that reigns there

We wait patiently to hear Twitter talk about the cause of the failure.
