Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool's solutions may not be on the transfer market and expresses surprise at Tranmere Rovers' victory

Jurgen Klopp is confident that Liverpool will continue to find in his team solutions to what he thinks is a "tough pre-season".

The Reds were denied many key players at the opening of their warm-up campaign with an impressive 6-0 win at Tranmere Rovers, next to Ligue 1 on Thursday.

Roberto Firmino, Alisson Becker and Mohamed Salah have just started their summer break, Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita are injured while Sadio Mane is still in action of the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.

None of them will travel with the Reds during their American tour next week, after which Liverpool will only have two friendly matches before the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 2nd.

Klopp, however, was impressed by how young and marginalized players from the Reds came to Prenton Park.

"It's a tough pre-season for us – Sadio is the semifinal (of the African Nations Cup), which means he has two more games and he will be late. The Brazilian has finally finished a season of 13 months, just like Mo, "said Liverpool boss.

"We will not have a pre-season together, just a week before the games start.

"We sought tonight to find solutions. It was a good sign for us. That's what we can achieve, but we need to be better than last season. "

Liverpool was keen and creative in their victory at Tranmere, despite the presence of two completely different teams in each half.

And asking if his team was still encouraged by his win in the Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur last month, Klopp said, "They should be happy and trust it, but it's not as if we said we are winners of the Champions League 24 hours a day.

"It was much better this summer. We took a new step and tonight they all seemed confident.

"During the season, we have to win something new and not always look back. We want to play the best season possible. "

Klopp added: "It was a very good match with a lot of good individual performances. The game was fluid, we played with a fantastic direction.
