Solskjaer has so far made two new faces with Aaron Wan-Bissaka's capture of Crystal Palace for £ 50 million and Daniel James' signature of Swansea for £ 20 million.

It is thought that it targets young British talents, but insists that nationality plays no role in the types of characters that it wants to import.

Instead, the Norwegian claims to want players able to have an immediate impact, while he seeks to improve a team that has experienced serious difficulties sometimes last season.

"It does not matter that they are English, Norwegian, French, Brazilian," he said. "You just want good players and good people.

"Quality and speed are of course important things in football these days. The more factors you have in a team, the better you are.

Solskjaer's tactics rely heavily on speed and he is busy setting up his philosophy while the team is on pre-season tour in Australia.

Winger James is one of the fastest players in the country, but has not been tested in the Premier League yet.

When asked if James was now the fastest player on the team, Solskjaer replied, "Maybe Aaron Wan-Bissaka!

"Both have a maximum speed. Modern football is stop-start, it's gone, speed, tempo, quality.

"So these two put their markers. Of course, with our boys, we have some fast ones. "

United will have to complete its summer activities before the window closes on August 8th.

They are known to seek at least one midfielder after the exit of Ander Herrera at the end of last month.
