Head to head record
In all competitions, Algeria beat the Super Eagles seven times, losing nine and three draws – making the clashes extremely competitive.
In recent years, the two teams have met twice, Nigeria triumphed 3-1 in 2016 and Algeria scoring three times without a response a year later – which again demonstrates what point teams are equal historic.
Recent form
Algeria has been dominant throughout the CAN, with nine goals and zero cashing in its first four games.
The Ivory Coast presented a tougher challenge in the quarterfinals, although the Fennecs managed to find a way to go, imposing on penalties to show their strength and mental toughness.
Nigeria was slightly less impressive. He beat Burundi and Guinea to qualify mathematically for the group, then lost 2-0 to Madagascar, which may have allowed them to look away from the ball.
The victories of 3-2 and 2-1 against Cameroon and South Africa in the last 16 finals and quarterfinals, however, put the Super Eagles in the right position to challenge the Algerians.

Prediction
Nigeria has several good players, including Wilfried Ndidi and Alex Iwobi, and they proved to the CAN that they were able to score goals.
However, Algeria was solid on defense throughout the tournament, yielding only one goal in five games.
Combined with the attacking talents of Riyad Mahrez and Yacime Brahimi – an offensive weapon from the bench – their bottom line should be enough to defeat Nigeria.
Prediction: Algeria 1-0 Nigeria.
