FRANK LAMPARD clinched his first victory as Chelsea boss by defeating St Patrick 4-0 at Richmond Park.

The Blues marvel, Mason Mount, opened the scoring very early, before Emerson doubled his head and Olivier Giroud scored twice in the second period.

Tiemoue Bakayoko is still struggling to regain his form in Chelsea and seemed neglected against the Irish.

Chelsea started the game on the front foot and could have scored at least three more in the first period.

But St Pats goalie Barry Murphy made some great saves.

And Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham did not have the advantage in front of the goal.

The Blues were much quieter in the second period after Lampard switched sides at halftime.

Although Billy Gilmour and Kasey Palmer showed some nice pbades.

FIRST HALF

WILLY CABALLERO

I did not have much to do, but St Pats was up to it by sending a dangerous cross to Dean Clarke.

DAVIDE ZAPPACOSTA

Not as visible in the future as Emerson on the other side.

But once tested the goalkeeper St Pats with a cheeky shot. A solid performance overall.

FIKAYO TOMORI

Considered compounded alongside veteran David Luiz, even though St Pats did not pose a great threat.

DAVID LUIZ

Well directed defense – as expected of a team leader.

Almost open early scoring with a powerful head.

EMERSON

He seemed dangerous throughout the first period with his incessant descents on the flank.

Scored from afar, although goalkeeper Murphy helped him groping the ball.

Jorginho

Controlled the game well placed at the bottom of the diamond formation.

Assured that St Pats rarely had a chance to threaten on the break.

MASON MOUNT

Wonderful half of the young. Opened the brand with a very good contact with the Kovacic pbad.

He was not afraid to ask for the ball and his teammates obviously trusted him.

MATEO KOVACIC

Sent a superb ball to pick up Mount, who then opened the scoring.

ROSS BARKLEY

Hit the post and catch a helper when Emerson doubled in advance.

Worked well alongside Kovacic.

TAMMY ABRAHAM

Much calmer than Batshuayi and ruined a wonderful one-on-one situation with Murphy.

MICHY BATSHUAYI

Dangerous from the beginning, could have scored three times if Murphy had not refused him beautiful backups.

Not very clinical, though.

SECOND PART

JAMIE CUMMING

No one had a chance to show his skills.

MARCOS ALONSO

A little sloppy in defense and pbading. Tried to run when he was bored in his half.

ANDREAS CHRISTENSEN

Quiet game of the Dane, but St Pats did not quite leave him a chance to intervene.

KURT ZOUMA

Composed with the ball at his feet, stopped a dangerous counterattack of St Pats.

CESAR AZPILICUETA

An easy game for the Blues skipper.

Gesticulated a lot, however, making sure the Chelsea youth follow Lampard's instructions.

TIEMOUE BAKAYOKO

Was in the shadow of his young teammate Gilmour.

Once had the nutmeg in an embarrbading way.

Billy Gilmour

Impressive performance of the young.

Confident about the ball and play well the game

KASEY PALMER

Sent some gentle pbades forward, including a precise wire to Pedro.

Impressed by his composure, he helped Giroud score his second goal by pressing in height.

KENEDY

In front of the goal of St Pats, many problems arose and Giroud finally managed a precise ball.

PEDRO

Spoiled some good chances and then disappeared later in the game.

OLIVIER GIROUD

He brought the ball home from Kenedy center before settling the result to 4-0 after a solo race.

Have been going for the spectacular a few times, but to no avail
