A group of performers set out to sing in the bustling Carnegie Hall Street in New York after the Saturday night show was canceled due to a mbadive power outage that resulted in the Manhattan closure.

Several videos posted on social media showed a choir outside the hall that was singing in front of a crowd of spectators.

A witness told INSIDER that she was looking for a viable train and came across what she described as a "heavenly sound".

A choir scheduled to perform Saturday night at Carnegie Hall made the most of her canceled show in the midst of a mbadive power outage that plunged much of Manhattan into darkness.
Writer and professor Briallen Hopper tweeted that she had been stuck in a train for nearly an hour before going above ground to find restaurants and dark buildings. Hopper told INSIDER that she was preparing a rescue plan to take a train when she followed what she described as a "heavenly sound".
"All the trains at the 63rd were down, so I decided to go to the 57th to see if any trains were going there," Hopper said, referring to a station located in a radius about 20 blocks and having experienced breakdowns. "Then I heard that heavenly sound and I went to him."

A user said that it was the millennial choirs and orchestras, the group scheduled for 8:30 pm show before the venue announced the evening shows were canceled.

Another user who saw the above performance wrote that the improvised performance was "turning lemons into lemonade is everything. "

The rest of the city was not so lucky, as more than 40,000 people suffered a power outage around 8 pm. Saturday, leaving residents stranded in trains, in elevators and without traffic lights.
