NDC primary: more than 30 forms of sampling in the Western Region

At least 31 members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the western region have chosen forms to challenge the next parliamentary primaries.

The party has opened nominations from Wednesday, July 10 to Friday, July 12, 2019.

The parliamentary primaries of the NDC are scheduled for August 24, 2019.

The submission of the application forms is scheduled for 18 and 19 July.

The cost of the forms is 2000 GH ¢, the filing fees being fixed at 35 000 GH + for all candidates. Women and people with disabilities pay 1700 GH ¢.

The Western regional communications officer for the party, Richard Kirk-Mensah, confirmed that 3 out of 31 women were selected to choose the application forms at the closing of the nominations, Friday, July 12, 2019, to run for various parliamentary seats in the region.

The three women include Dorcas Afo Toffey (Jomoro), the Hon. Charlotte Odum (Sekondi) and the Hon. Betty Busumtwe Sam (Sekondi).

The communications officer pointed out that the outgoing Wbada East MP, the Hon. Isaac Adjei Mensah and the former district chief of Prestea Huni-Valley, Hon. Wisdom Cudjoe was going to stand without opposition because it was the only person to have chosen the application forms to challenge at the closing of the candidatures.

He also confirmed that his badistant regional communications officer, Ebenezer Essien, had also chosen application forms to compete for Ahanta West.

Essikado, Takoradi, Kwesiminstim, Evaluate-Ajomoro Gwira, Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Amenfi East The constituencies are suspended.
