According to a statement signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, the publications allege that Akufo-Addo was allegedly responsible for airlifting the Black Stars Supporters Union in Egypt and providing them with a home and food for the tournament period.

"The publications further claim that the transportation of each supporter would cost the government $ 20,000, which is why Ms. Akufo-Addo would have pocketed a total of $ 2,400,000 for the air transportation of 120 supporters for the tournament," the report said. communicated.

However, the department claims that the false reports are a well-calculated attempt to tarnish the name of the President of the Republic, as the contract was awarded to White Oak Limited, a reputable agency with impressive experience in the travel and circuit sector. .

The declaration stressed that all the provisions relating to flights involving air transport of supporters, ministry officials and other key stakeholders were overseen by a five-member committee composed of ministry staff and representatives of the Attorney General. and the Department of Justice.

The committee was charged by Mr. Asiamah "to ensure the successful organization of Ghanaian supporters and other officials to support the Black Stars in the quest for the country to win our 5th AFCON Cup", according to the communicated.

"Therefore, the sum of money that would have been ambaded by the daughter of H.E. the President is totally unfounded, mischievous and constitutes a product of their own imagination".
