AirTV Mini broadcasts local TV and streaming in a dongle

The device of the size of a palm is certainly not the first tiny dongle streaming. Amazon, Roku and Google already offer similar products. But according to Mitch Weinraub, director of product development for AirTV, the AirTV Mini has "more memory and a faster processor than anything else in the category."

The device connects to your Android TV via the HDMI port and automatically launches the Sling TV application, with Netflix built into the interface. You can access other Android TV apps via Google Play and you will have access to Google Assistant and Netflix via dedicated buttons on the remote. There is also the OTA streaming feature. "The AirTV brand is committed to making local television relevant and easily accessible to streamers," said Weinraub. But you will need a Wi-Fi compatible AirTV network tuner and an OTA antenna (sold separately) to access these channels.

As with the original AirTV decoder, the Mini is a bit outlandish. Most people interested in local channels are not the ones who jump to cut cords, but the device could be attractive to those who do not want to pay for the cable. And at $ 79.99 (available on AirTV.net), the Mini is both smaller and cheaper than the original.
