Eight women at the NDC parliamentary primaries contest in the Czech Republic | Policy

Eight women are among a total of 64 parliamentary candidates who have taken forms to participate in the forthcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries if their candidacy is retained after a vote.

One of the women, Dr. Nana Ama Browne Klutse, a physicist in Ghana Atomic Energy; Seven MPs, including Felix Kwakye Ofosu, former Deputy Minister of Communications, would be hotly contested for the seat of the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) constituency.

Others include Queenstar Maame Pokuaa Sawyerr, incumbent member of the Agona East constituency, who would defend with Maxwell Oko Okai. Paul Ofori Amoah and Richard Bentum in the running for the Agona West headquarters.

Ernestina Eno Adu Hagan, Cape Coast South, seeks to surprise the outgoing Cape Coast South MP, George Kweku Ricketts Hagan, former outgoing Minister of the Central Region under the Mahama administration, as well as Henry Osei and Thomas Hughes. Amissah.

Cape Coast North has three candidates, Kwamena Minta Nyarku, Emmanuel Valis Akyianu and Prince Biney.
Godwin Arthur Nana, Isaac Smith Acquah and Foster Joseph Andoh are fighting over Hemang Lower Denkyira and in Twifo Ati Mokwa riding, Samuel Ato Amoah and T. D. Vondee are strongly opposed.

James Joe Quayson Jnr would go unopposed to Assin North with Shaibu Nuregin Migyimah and Alex Antwi Boasiako for Assin Central and Nicholas Nana Baffoe, Kofi Nyarkodan Kuranchie and Nana Kwabena Adjei Anomafo for Assin South.

Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa has three candidates; Alhbadan Kobina Ghansah, Michael Harry Amissah Yamson and Eric Kwesi Taylor, while Gomoa Central have Ebenezer Arthur Duncan, Moses Jehu Appiah and Ekow Dampson.

Mr. Mathew Kwofie, Acting Regional Secretary of the NDC, who disclosed this information to the GNA, said that the candidacy, which opened on Wednesday, July 10 and closed on Friday, July 12, 2019, was in accordance with the guidelines governing parliamentary primaries.
