This video game can improve the emotional intelligence of teenagers. A new study has revealed that video games can promote emotional intelligence in adolescents. When they are used as part of an emotional intelligence training program, video games can help teens to badess, express and manage their own emotions.

The results of the study are published in a peer-reviewed publication by Mary Ann Liebert Publishers, Inc., titled Games for Health Journal.

In the new study, researchers have developed an emotional intelligence training program that uses video games as experiential learning tools. The team recruited a group of teenagers in eight sessions. They badessed their emotional skills before starting training, after the program and three months later.

Claudia Carissoli and Daniela Villani, University of Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan, Italy) co-wrote this new study. Carissoli and Villani have developed a video game, EmotivaMente, in order to promote the emotional intelligence of adolescents.

The results showed that playing the game promoted students' emotional intelligence. This study will help develop a more effective game to learn how to manage emotions. However, other game improvements are needed to have additional effects.
