Ethan Ampadu, Welsh defender Chelsea, should leave the club on loan this season, said manager Frank Lampard.
The 18-year-old center back has not joined the pre-season tour of the Premier League club in Japan in anticipation of a move.
Aston Villa would be interested signing Ampadu, who played 12 times for the first Chelsea team.
He made his debut in December 2017 and played five times under Maurizio Sarri last season.
Capped eight times by his country, Ampadu began his career at Exeter City, League Two, at age 15, before joining Chelsea in 2017.
He signed a new five-year contract with the Stamford Bridge club in September 2018.
