The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is preparing an army of skilled professionals to replace experienced lawmakers coming out of Parliament in 2020.

For the first time in 28 years, the opposition NDC should introduce new candidates to represent certain constituencies.

Most of their experienced politicians, including Alban Sumana Bagbin, the oldest MP in the Nadowli West constituency, will not return to the House in August.

Four others, Richard Quashiegah, MP for Keta; Clement Kofi Humado, MP for Anlo; Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, MP for Ketu South and Ms Bernice Adiku Heloo, Member of Parliament for Hohoe, will also not be re-elected.

The exit of these experienced lawmakers, according to political experts, will create a void in the minority caucus in Parliament.

But, the NDC is not worried about the release of these deputies because they have a viable plan.

Peter Boamah Otukonor, Deputy Secretary General of the NDC, said their replacements were staffed with dynamic staff.

"We are not worried about the release of these experienced MPs; we have dynamic and diligent replacements who strengthen our strength in Parliament, "he said at Adom FM's morning show, Dwaso Nsem, on Tuesday.

He added that the new young men and women would give MPs the new patriotic party the chance to make a living.

"New candidates are not political neophytes. We have competent men and women to help our leaders keep the government on guard, "he is touted.
