Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt arrived in Turin to complete his £ 67.5m transfer to Juventus, Serie A champion.

The 19-year-old, also linked to Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris-St Germain, led the Dutch giants in the Champions League semifinals last season.

After arriving in a private jet, the defender said: "I am happy to be here."

He made his debut in 2016 and won the Eredivisie and Dutch Cup. He was finalist of the Europa League in 2017.

De Ligt has scored eight goals in 77 league appearances for the Amsterdam club, which he joined at the age of nine, and became the youngest captain of the club in March 2018.

He scored the winning goal against Juve to allow Ajax to qualify for the semifinals of the Champions League, where they lost to Tottenham.

De Ligt made his debut in the Netherlands in March 2017, when he had only started two league matches for Ajax at the time.
