Brazilian police said they had closed a clandestine factory producing fake Ferrari and fake Lamborghini.

A father and his son, owners of the workshop of Santa Catarina State, in the south of the country, were arrested for industrial property.

Police said the cars were offered on social media for $ 45,000 to $ 60,000 – a fraction of the price of reality.

The officials did not specify the type of parts used to build the vehicles, but they distributed photos showing smooth bodies, badges and accessories bearing the Italian marks.

Monday's raid followed a complaint from Italian companies.

Eight partially completed vehicles were seized during this operation and the police indicated that it was investigating the number of vehicles manufactured.
