The new boy from Sheffield Utd, Ravel Morrison, was the best young player Sir Alex Ferguson has ever seen, but his discipline has earned him a rebound from club to club.

If Sir Alex Ferguson notes you, you must be good.

When Ravel Morrison, now 26, was a youth starlet at Manchester United, he was supposed to become a legend at Old Trafford.

Even Fergie, an ex-boss hard to please, of the Red Devils, could not help but congratulate the young man on his first role in the team.

Rio Ferdinand remembers one day: "Sir Alex Ferguson, I remember, he called us one day, Wazza (Wayne Rooney) and told him," Look at this kid, he's better than you. Rooney, when you were a kid, he's better than you. Rio, better than Ryan Giggs when you were a child.

"It's the best kid you'll ever see."

But that did not really work for the man who boasts of being the next Paul Gascoigne, to whom Sheffield Utd, a new member of the Premier League, decided to try his luck this summer .

Instead, Morrison rebounded from club to club, desperately trying to recapture the magic that made many people in the game believe that he had the world at his feet.

A young star

Before landing a prestigious position at Sky, Gary Neville worked with MUTV and regularly commented on youth club games at Altrincham's Moss Lane.

Ravel Morrison's ability was just a scandal. He was playing in a midfielder three with Pogba and Ryan Tunnicliffe. All were remarkable, but Ravel was the main game changer. "

Morrison's abilities immediately struck him, even though he was playing in a talented team of Man United, with future stars Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard at his side in the middle of the field.

"Ravel Morrison's ability was just a scandal," Neville shouted once.

"He was playing in a midfielder three with Pogba and Ryan Tunnicliffe. All were remarkable, but Ravel was the main game changer.

"It was an incredible talent, like Paul Gascoigne, who could beat men and score incredible goals. Few players in the central midfield can beat the players – Ravel could overtake them. "

Thanks to Morrison, United won the FA Youth Cup – ironically beating Sheffield United 6-3 overall in 2011.

EXTERNAL INFLUENCES

But instead of chasing after making his debut with United in a League Cup game in 2010 against the Wolves, Morrison has mingled with the bad crowd.

His first contact with the law came in 2008, when he was warned by the police of simple badault.

Three years later, Morrison had the chance to avoid a prison sentence when he was accused of intimidating a witness who had been the victim of an armed robbery.

Two of his friends were not so lucky and had to spend time.

He possessed as much natural talent as any young person we have ever signed, but he continued to get in trouble. "

A few months later, he was again in court, accused of badaulting his girlfriend and causing criminal damage.

He accepted a fine, but his career at Man Utd was almost over, Fergie washing his hands with talent.

In his book 2015 Leading, the Scottish wrote: "Ravel Morrison could be the saddest case.

"He had as much natural talent as any young person we ever signed, but he continued to get in trouble.

"It was very painful to sell it … it could have been a fantastic player, but over the years, problems off the field have continued to worsen and we have Another choice than to cut the cord. "

Big Sam

Sam Allardyce hoped to do what Fergie could not do and tame Morrison and allow him to blossom fully.

"I hope you can sort it out, because if you can, he'll be a genius," United's boss told his counterpart at the time of closing the deal.

But just a month after signing, he had a headache at Allardyce when he posted a homophobic threat on Twitter.

Morrison has been fined £ 7,000 for this offense and has been warned by the FA of his future conduct.

He was loaned to Birmingham, which Big Sam hoped would be the cultural shock needed to revive his career.

But Morrison was right Blues manager Lee Clark, on his attitude of maintaining time and his general attitude.

THE DEFINITIVE MOMENT OF MORRISON

Morrison returned to Upton Park for the 2013-14 season with a different attitude, as well as a new jersey name after getting a special waiver from the Premier League to wear his name on the back of his jersey.

"Ravel" said that it was because he wanted to make a fresh start and he certainly got out of the traps by flying.

Two goals in his first five games have restored Allardyce's confidence. It seems that he has turned a new page.

One of these strikes was against Tottenham and is currently his decisive moment in the game.

Recovering the ball from his side, he pbaded the Spurs defense before calmly raising the ball over Hugo Lloris.

His field performances also earned him from being summoned by the under-21 England team and he scored twice against Lithuania.

FALL OUT BOY

After another confrontation with Allardyce, Morrison was sent back to the championship, this time to QPR.

Six goals in 15 games allowed the R's to qualify for the playoffs, which they won at Wembley by beating Derby County 1-0.

But Morrison was an unused substitute that day and he soon returned to East London with a career in limbo.

A CHANCE IN WALES

The City of Cardiff recruited Morrison early in the 2014-15 season under a three month loan agreement.

On his first and only start to the club, he imposed himself as the man of the match against Blackpool.

But when he was on loan in Wales, his confidence was broken when the Hammers put him on the transfer list.

He played only seven appearances with the Bluebirds before his coach Russell Slade revealed that Morrison had no future at the club.

A BRIT TO BE FOREIGN

With his career in ruins in the UK, Morrison went to Serie A with Lazio when West Ham canceled his contract in 2015.

And life in Italy started well for the Wythenshawe boy, scoring two goals and two badists in a 14-0 loss to captain Auronzo in a friendly.

Morrison also made his Champions League debut for the Rome giants who were playing the last eight minutes of a qualifying round against Bayer Leverkusen while his team was already 3-0.

His unhindered Serie A debut against Chievo, which resulted in a 4-0 crash, limited his chances, and signs of trouble to settle were revealed.

"I choose those who deserve to play, who train regularly, professionally and openly," Lazio manager Stefano Pioli said at the time.

"Morrison has to work harder, he still does not speak a word of Italian."

The odds in Italy never came up, with rumors suggesting that he was homesick, and he was again on loan at QPR in 2017, who had the option to buy him for 2 £ million.

The West London team seized this opportunity and Morrison was loaned to the Mexican Atlas team until the end of the 2017-2018 season.

He showed flashes of genius in the Liga MX, which prompted Ostersunds in Sweden to give him a chance last season, once released by Lazio.

But Morrison's contract was not renewed last summer due to injury issues and high pay, while he was a fan favorite and management.

NEW START

Morrison is back in the Premier League after signing a one – year contract with the Blades as a result of a successful try.

And manager Chris Wilder thinks he can make the most of himself.

"Ravel is an undeniable talent and we are delighted to have reached an agreement that is suitable for all parties," he said.

"I've talked to a number of people about it and it's clear that he has great abilities.

"We are getting a fantastic footballer with a terrific pedigree and it's a great opportunity for Rav, so we think we can help him get back to where he wants to be."

It is now up to Morrison to show the world what Fergie saw so many years ago and to prove that those who doubt are wrong.
