The Saudi oil giant and the world's largest oil company, Saudi Aramco, awarded 34 contracts valued at $ 18 billion (SAR 67.5 billion) for engineering, procurement and construction needs (EPC ) of its oilfield extension programs in Marjan and Berri.

In a statement, Aramco said more than 90 companies and institutions were invited to bid for the packages, with 16 Saudi and international companies selected for supply and electricity supply work.
More than 50% of the transactions would be allocated to local businesses as part of Aramco's Inamn Total Value Add (Iktva) program to boost localization.
The project will increase the production capacity of 550,000 barrels of crude oil and 2.5 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day.
Aramco said the Saudi construction companies selected for these projects were "high caliber companies that have proven their ability to handle complex projects".
The In-Kingtom Total Value Add program aims to increase the stock of Aramco's locally sourced goods and services to 70% by 2021.
Marjan's incremental program covers oil, badociated gas, unaffiliated gas and the Marjan Offshore Deposit Gases, and provides for the establishment of an Offshore Gas Separation Plant, as well as 24 platforms. forms of oil, gas and sea water injection.
Aramco also plans to expand its onshore oil facilities in Tanajib and build a new gas plant that will include gas treatment and processing, recovery and fractionation of natural gas liquids (NGLs) and gas compression facilities .
A cogeneration facility will be developed, in addition to a water desalination facility and new transfer pipelines.
The offshore oilfield development project aims to increase Marjan Field's production by 300,000 barrels of oil per calendar year of average gross crude oil, process 2.5 billion cubic feet of gas per day, and produce 360 billion barrels of oil per calendar year. 000 additional barrels of oil per calendar. Meanwhile, the completion of the facilities provided by the Berri Growth Program will result in the addition of a diesel separation plant on the island of Abu Ali, capable of processing 500,000 barrels a day of Arabian Light crude oil, in addition to 40,000 barrels of oil condensate gas processing facilities badociated with the Khursaniyah gas plant.
The Berri expansion also includes the development of a water injection facility, two drill islands, 11 oil and offshore rigs, and nine drill sites. oil production and water supply onshore.
Commenting on the contracts, Saudi Aramco's President and Chief Executive Officer, Amin H. Nbader, said the two programs would significantly strengthen Saudi Aramco's oil and gas processing capacity, strengthening the oil giant's position. as a leading supplier of integrated energy and meeting long-term long-term demand for oil.
After the contract was awarded, the US company Mcdermott revealed that it had won two engineering, procurement, construction and installation contracts worth $ 4.5 billion (16, SAR 8 billion) for lots 1 and 4 of Aramco Marjan Increment Development.
Italian entrepreneur Saipem won two USD 3.5 billion (13.5 billion SAR) onshore engineering and construction contracts for the Marjan and Berri gas fields.
The South Korean company Hyundai Engineering and Construction, headquartered in South Korea, has also won contracts worth $ 2.7 billion (SAR 10.1 billion) for Lots 6 and 12 of Marjan's development program.
