President of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Professor Stephen Adei, has condemned the leader of the League of Economic Fighters, Ernesto Yeboah, for disrupting Parliament with its #DropThatChamber demonstration.

Professor Adei said that he would have slapped Ernesto for shouting "drop this room" from the parliament tribune during a session on the proposed new chamber, where he was his brother.

He made it known during an interview with Benjamin Akakpo at the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Clbad91.3FM on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

Professor Adei described what Mr. Yeboah did as "shameful and unfair".

"I think what the young man did in Parliament was shameful and false. I do not think you have to be rude and disruptive to argue a point. B

Because of what I'm saying, he should not seem to be supporting him, because if he was my brother, I would have gone there to slap him and say, "Please, daddy and Mom did not teach us how to behave, " Prof Adei said.

The former rector of the Institute of Management and Public Administration of Ghana (GIMPA) added: "I am a man of strong opinion, but that does not mean that you insult Parliament and shout at them; [why? Don’t you have elders in your house?]"

Professor Adei, however, added his voice to support the many Ghanaians, politicians and civil society organizations who opposed the construction of this $ 200 million building.

He said: "That put aside, I think the cost of construction, and I say it as a person who built, is not that expensive, but it's wrong right now in terms of national priorities and needs of this country.

To say that we gave you this meeting place and that you are going to spend about $ 250,000 when we can not make roads, it shows a feeling of insensitivity and I think the reaction of the media, even the most rude , is a good message to our politicians that Ghanaians will not tolerate them … "
