Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reveals when the next group of stars will return to training

Jurgen Klopp revealed that Liverpool trio Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker would start their pre-season at training camp in France at the end of the month.

But the boss of the Reds has strongly hinted that Sadio Mane would not be available for the start of the new campaign.

Firmino and Alisson are currently on a break after helping Brazil win the Copa America, while Salah is also on vacation after Egypt has been eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The three men were absent from the group that had flown to the US tour Tuesday and will not be considered for the friendly match against Napoli at Murrayfield on Sunday.

However, they will then join their teammates for the training camp in Evian, during which the Reds will face Lyon in a friendly match in Geneva.

"Mo and the Brazilians will come for Evian," Klopp told liverpoolfc.com.

"That means we have about a week left until (Manchester) City (in the Community Shield), 12 days to Norwich, and 15 or 16 days to Chelsea (Super Cup).

"We must see. The good thing is that when you have a short break, you do not lose much.

"They needed three weeks and so we told them (to take it), but they are training now already.

"I would have preferred that if they had come back after a week, but that would make no sense! So, (they have) these three weeks and then we'll have them here for the pre-season. "

Mane is preparing with Senegal for the Africa Cup of Nations finals against Algeria in Cairo on Friday night.

And although no final decision has been made as to the length of his break, the expected three-week vacation will drive him out of the Community Shield on August 4 and from the opening of the Premier League to home in Norwich City five days later.

"With Sadio, we have to take care of him after the final – how he feels and things like that," added Klopp.

"It will be really difficult. 16 days before playing City, his season is over. We will have to make a decision, but we have not made it yet. "

Liverpool played their second training session at Notre Dame on Wednesday before Friday's friendly against Borussia Dortmund.

Andy Robertson is said to be fit to play after undergoing a small operation on the right hand after the infection of an insect bite.

"It's up to the fool to decide, but I think I'm ready for Friday," said the left-back. "We'll know soon! But as for my hand, I can just finish and go, so I'm ready to go.
