Tema police looking for thieves at service stations

The Tema Regional Police Command is participating in a manhunt for three thieves who attacked a Shell petrol station at the Tema Highway roundabout on Sunday, July 14, 2019.

According to a press release issued by the Tema Regional Police Command and signed by his attorney, DSP Joseph Benefo Darkwah, "the three men arrived at the gas station aboard a black Toyota Corolla sedan carrying registration number GG 991-18 at around 11:50 am, held seven workers and two clients hostage and stole their valuables ".

"Police investigations revealed that the stolen items included an Apple MacBook Pro laptop, a Dell laptop, a Motorola Z2 mobile phone and an MTN router."

The rest consists of MTN recharge cards worth 3,000 GHC, a CPU and an unspecified amount.

The statement stated that no one had been injured during the robbery.

According to the statement, the police have since returned to the scene of the crime and have in their custody the CCTV footage that is being examined to help them eventually stop the thieves.

"We badure the public [that] the police are working diligently to ensure that the perpetrators of this crime are brought to justice. We call on the general public that anyone with relevant information who will help resolve this matter should not hesitate to contact the nearest police station or police at the following numbers: statement added.
