Kieran Trippier sent a message to Tottenham supporters, thanking them for their support during his time at the club before he left for Atletico Madrid.

The English international finished Wednesday his contract with La Liga for a three-year contract, for an initial amount of about 20 million pounds, plus additional points.

The 28-year-old was seen as a surplus to the needs of the Spurs, although he was a regular starter in the first team in the last three seasons and made 38 appearances in the last campaign .

However, he did nothing but kind words about his former team and his supporters, whom he thanked for taking the team to "new heights".

& # 39; I THANK YOU. I met great people at @spursofficial, and many of them are called to my friends, wrote Trippier on Instagram.

"To Tottenham fans around the world, you've been great.

"The support you have given me and the team has taken us to new heights. With the new stadium, I am convinced that the team and the fans still have many exciting moments!

"I wish everybody in the club is only the best" #spurs #thankyou "

In his first interview as a player from Atletico Madrid, Trippier told the club's social media: "It's an incredible feeling.

"I always wanted to play abroad and what a place to play in Madrid. This is a fantastic team and an amazing manager, and I look forward to continuing and meeting the team. "

"They have been to major finals, they have been so successful in La Liga over the years and they have a quality team and an incredible manager. It's something I can not wait to do: working with the manager, learning leaving the manager and helping the team succeed in the future. & # 39;

Trippier could play on Saturday when Atletico face Numancia in a friendly match.
