Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano will face each other in a two-on-three match with some additions to NXT TakeOver: Toronto.
WWE announced that Cole would defend his NXT Championship against Gargano at the TakeSover event of the SummerSlam weekend. In the scenario, Gargano will choose a stipulation for one of the falls and Cole will choose one stipulation for the other. If this happens at a third fall, William Regal will choose the last stipulation.
The stipulations of the match have not yet been revealed.
After Tommaso Ciampa had to leave the title due to an injury, Gargano defeated Cole in a falling match over two out of three at TakeOver: New York in April to become NXT Champion. Cole then won the title against Gargano by beating him at TakeOver XXV in June.
Cole vs Gargano at TakeOver: Toronto is fast becoming a rubber match that will settle its rivalry.
On the episode of NXT television broadcast this week, Gargano came back and beat Cole in the closing angle of the show. He attacked Cole all around the Full Sail arena. Gargano then relocated Cole to the Gargano Escape.
The Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is hosting the TakeOver: Toronto event on Saturday, August 10th.
