Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, Majority Leader in Parliament
The majority leader in Parliament and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, announced that he could leave parliament in 2024.
The member says that he can not run again in this election year.
Its release follows the decision of some minority MPs to withdraw from Parliament after many years in the service of the legislature, including the second vice-president, Alban Bagbin.
"By the grace of God if I have strength and if I have life, I will continue but secondly, I declared that I would not go beyond 2024, if God willing, "said the deputy of Suame," in an interview.
Mr. Bagbin did not choose a form to represent himself after the candidacy was opened by the party.
Mr. Bagbin has arrived in Parliament to represent the population of the Nadowli-Kaleo Parliament since 1992.
The oldest MP, 62, has not officially announced a motive, but his decision was linked to a call from a group of young people asking him to take a new look and ask a young man to replace.
Four others in the Volta region do not have it either. They are Mr. Richard Quashiegah, MP for Keta; Mr. Clement Kofi Humado, Member of Parliament for Anlo; Mr. Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, Member of Parliament for Ketu South; and Ms. Bernice Adiku Heloo, Member of Parliament for Hohoe.
