Frank Lampard told Callum Hudson-Odoi that he was planning to make the teenager an integral part of his Chelsea team to try to convince the English winger to sign a new contract.

The 18-year-old presented a transfer request in January after being routinely forgotten by Lampard's predecessor, Mauirzio Sarri.

The transfer to Bayern Munich has not been successful, however, Hudson-Odoi has not yet agreed to the extension of a contract that should expire in a little less than a year.

His compatriots Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount have recently pledged their long-term future at the West London club. Lampard hopes that Hudson-Odoi will do the same, while Bayern is ready to test the waters with a new offer of 45 million pounds.

"One area is that of football in which I am completely involved and the other is that of the negotiations, which I am not," Lampard said.

"To say that I am confident is that I know everything that I do not quite have. I leave that to the club.

'What I know is that the club wants Callum to sign. This is a player who has crossed the academy and made his entry into the English team and who is of course potentially a huge player, now and in the future.

'Callum knows how I feel. I spoke to Callum, I think he can be a central part of this team. There is still a lot to do, but it's good news for all of us.

"It's a very great talent, fans love it here and we want young players, you can see other people register around it and we hope something will be done.

"I have not seen much of him, I have spoken to him many times because I want him to know how I feel.

'I have a real concern for the players of this club, especially the younger ones. I think it's important that I show this and that the decision will come back to him and the club. "
